How to Use eFiles

EFiles is a continuously growing database for instructors in the University of Texas Departments of English and Rhetoric and Writing. The eFiles database contains assignments, syllabi, policy statements, and information about lower-division English and DRW courses. Access to the system is currently restricted to UT professors, assistant instructors, and teaching assistants in relevant UT departments. To gain access, please sign up for an account. All accounts are blocked until they are reviewed by an administrator.

EFiles is organized into two main sections: "Department Resources for Instructors" and "Instructor Generated Resources." Each of these sections has a navigation menu on the left side of the page.

Department Resources for Instructors

This section is sorted by course and discipline. Individual pages and links describe each course and provide model syllabi, course descriptions, course policies and assignments.

Instructor Generated Resources

This section of the site is driven by contributions from your fellow instructors, and we encourage you to contribute your own materials. These materials are organized through a series of Tags. At the time of submission, each resource is labeled via a series of drop down menus with Tags in each of three categories:

Course

Resource Type

Descriptive Label

The instructor also has the option of providing their own list of labels: Free Tags.

Each tag under these four categories will produce a list of items to browse. If you are looking for a more specific resource you may find the search features of the site the most useful.

Search
In addition to navigating the site via these course links, eFiles offers the opportunity to search the entire database based on your own specific search terms. The search box, located in the upper left-hand corner of every page, allows users to customize their search. This function can be used to search for any term, from Milton to attendance policy to rhetorical analysis to .

By clinking on the Advance search link you have the option of searching from within a specific Tag (such as 'RHE 306,' or 'Close Reading.' Access Content with Advanced Search

eFiles also provides links to two other resources: Blogging Pedagogy, a public resource for teachers in English Studies; and The DASE Project, an archive of images (a UT EID is required to access DASE).
