Allyson LaBordePedagogical Goals of the Assignment
The primary goal of the presentations was to prepare the students to brainstorm and come up with trial theses for their final papers. Of course, the presentations also served the secondary purpose of giving students a break from my being a central figure in the class and allowed them to take more ownership of class discussions.

These are prompts that worked for my students of E314: Women’s Popular Genres
Papers were 5-7 pages.
We had an eclectic group of texts: Pride and Prejudice, Aurora Leigh, Bridget Jones' Diary, A Lady's Life in the Rocky Mountains, Eat Pray Love, and Reading Lolita in Tehran.
I let them interpret the prompts in their own way, but they had individual conferences with me first to discuss their ideas.
